About Hanlin International Education

Hanlin International Education was founded in Shanghai in 2017. We support students through international competition preparation, international curriculum tutoring, young-learner courses and individual research programmes.

Our learning centres in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chengdu and Hangzhou offer a connection between classroom study and wider academic interests. Students can learn online or in person, in one-to-one or small-group formats, with curriculum support spanning A-Level, IB, AP and IGCSE subjects.

Hanlin's teaching-research team writes coursebooks and lecture notes for structured learning. In mathematics, we help students organise their knowledge, choose methods thoughtfully and explain why a solution works.

AMC 12 and Our Published Mathematics Results

For students taking AMC 12, a strong mathematical foundation can open the way to more demanding problem solving and preparation for AIME. Hanlin's published results record progress across the AMC 10/12 pathway.

Selected results: AMC 10 and AMC 12 combined

Reported result 2025-2026 2024-2025
AIME qualification instances 379 235
Global top 5% awards 165 123
Global top 1% awards 13 30
Perfect-score recipients 5 3

Qualification instances are not unique student counts; award categories may overlap. The source does not separate these totals into AMC 12-only results.

We celebrate these achievements while recognising the individual work behind them: learning unfamiliar ideas, reviewing errors and building greater independence with mathematical reasoning.

Four AMC Distinguished Coach Awards

The four original certificates below recognise the named coaches' contributions to students' interest in mathematics and mathematical problem solving. Each carries the title AMC Distinguished Coach Award.

They bear MAA AMC and AMC International Group Leader for China identities, with signatories identified as the AMC International Group Leaders for China and for Hong Kong & Macau. The event, year and school name for each recipient are reproduced as printed.

Preparing for AMC 12 and the Next Step

AMC 12 draws on high-school mathematics, including trigonometry, advanced algebra and advanced geometry; calculus is excluded. Effective preparation connects these topics with number theory, counting and probability, rather than treating each chapter as an isolated collection of formulas.

At Hanlin, preparation starts with the student's current knowledge and previous competition experience. We can discuss an appropriate balance of foundation work, topic practice and mixed problem solving, with attention to the reasoning behind each solution.

For students working towards AIME, the emphasis can gradually move towards longer solutions, systematic casework, efficient calculations and checking an answer independently. Reviewing a difficult question is also an opportunity to compare methods and understand which ideas transfer to other problems.
